Science

At ALS, we believe that science is a way of making sense of the natural world and that it is our responsibility to prepare students to be scientifically literate in the 21st century.

Our Science curriculum ensures that students are knowledgeable about the important concepts and theories of the three major branches of scientific study: earth, life, and physical sciences. Through inquiry-based instruction our students will be able to:

• Think scientifically and use scientific knowledge to make decisions about real–world problems
• Construct new knowledge for themselves through research, investigation and discovery
• Become familiar with the natural world, and respectful of its unity, diversity, and fragility
• Make informed judgments on statements and debates claiming to have a scientific basis
• Reflect in an informed way on the role of science in human affairs 

French

L’amitié (1) s’adresse aux élèves de 5 à 7 ans. Ce livre comporte des activités de lecture et d’écriture présentées dans un contexte ludique. Il constitue un ensemble pédagogique complet pour enfant débutant en français et offre à l’élève la possibilité de communiquer rapidement en français. À la fin de ce livre, l’enfant doit savoir lire l’ensemble des textes présentés dans ce livre et écrire toutes les lettres de l’alphabet. 

Dans chaque unité, les enfants apprennent une chanson.

L’amitié (2) s’adresse aux élèves de 7 ans. Ce livre comporte tous ce que nous avons présentés dans l’amitié (1) en présentant des activités nombreuses et variées. L’aspect général du livre et les activités ludiques que l’on y trouve aideront sans doute à rendre l’apprentissage plus agréable et plus facile. À la fin de ce livre, l’enfant doit savoir lire l’ensemble des textes et quelques phrases correctement.

L’amitié (3) s’adresse aux élèves de 8 ans. Ce livre comporte tous ce que nous avons présentés dans l’amitié (1) et (2) en présentant des activités plus nombreuses et plus variées. On y trouve les activités ludiques, aideront sans doute à rendre l’apprentissage plus agréable et plus facile. À la fin de ce livre, l’enfant doit savoir lire l’ensemble des textes présents et écrire les plus possibles des phrases correctement.
