Kindergarten

Teaching Literature during the kindergarten ensures that students gain adequate exposure to a range of texts and tasks.. The Readers Workshop Model is the primary approach used throughout elementary literacy instruction.

Primary Two

Teaching Literature during the second grade ensures that students gain adequate exposure to a range of texts and tasks.

At ALS, we believe that science is a way of making sense of the natural world and that it is our responsibility to prepare students to be scientifically literate in the 21st century.

Primary Six

Humanities (Social Studies and Language Arts) is taught in all Middle School grades. It integrates Social Studies and Language Arts by combining the reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills of Language Arts with the content and skills of Social Studies. Literature can enrich the study of History, and historical background enriches a story.
