Mission and Beliefs:
"ALS aims to establish a leading academic community that serves a standard education which motivates and prepares students for success in a dynamic global environment."
The school is dedicated to enabling students to think critically and creatively by establishing a strong foundation in academics, the humanities, spiritual education and physical education.
ALS aims to meet the academic, social and emotional needs of all students, regardless of racial or religious diversity to encourage each student to achieve academic excellence, enjoy creative diversity, develop critical thinking skills and become lifelong learners and responsible citizens.
To fulfill our aims we provide a safe, caring, creative and inquiring atmosphere where students can best develop the skills and character necessary to participate in their communities and the world successfully.
We believe all children are creative and need to be inspired, and recognize that every child is an individual; unique in his/her own way. We emphasize the social, emotional, physical, intellectual development of each child.
We will provide individualized education that addresses students' unique learning styles, cultivates independent thought, and promotes the building of character.
We value and practice:

2. During our foundation year, we worked with our new community to develop the long term mission which addresses our desire to:
- Develop young men and women with active and creative minds, a sense of understanding and compassion for others, and the courage to act on their beliefs.
- Stress the total development of each child: spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical.
- Develop our students as responsible and productive citizens.
- Encourage lifelong learning by all members of our community.
- Create a challenging learning environment that encourages creativity, inquiry and service.
Within each student, we aim to develop:
- A love of learning.
- A positive attitude.
- A strong set of values rooted in a traditional moral code.
- A desire to succeed.
- A strong sense of propriety.
- A willingness and readiness to accept responsibility
- An appreciation of the needs of others coupled with a desire to help and care.
- A high level of self-respect, self-confidence and self-esteem.
- The knowledge and skills required for effective life-long learning.
